Book with No Author (Anonymous works) (Sec 13.81)

Note:
  • If the author or editor is unknown, the note or bibliography entry normally begins with the title. An initial article (e.g., A, An, The) is ignored in alphabetizing
  • If the work is explicitly attributed to "Anonymous" (e.g., on the title page or at the top of the work), cite it as the author Anonymous.
  • If the authorship is known or guessed at, but it is not written on the title page, put the name in brackets
 
Full Note: 

1. Book Title: Subtitle of the Book (Publisher, Year), page #.

 
Example: 

1. New York Public Library American History Desk Reference (Macmillan, 1997), 87.

 

Subsequent Note: 

2. Book Title, page #. 

 
Example:
