Basic Journal Article

The examples below refer to a basic journal article in print. Note that online journal articles have their own format (see tabs D and E in this guide).
 

Journal title: Abbreviate the titles of any journals that consist of more than one word. Omit articles, conjunctions, and prepositions (e.g., the, and, of). Do not use apostrophes. Capitalize all the words or abbreviated words in the title.

Examples:

The Journal of Biocommunication = J Biocommun.

JAMA: the Journal of the American Medical Association = JAMA

Virology = Virology
