Writing, Revising, or Adapting an Open Textbook

Pressbooks is simple book production software that allows you to write your own book, or import your manuscript, and export into several file formats you need to publish your books including MOBI(for Kindle), EPUB, and PDF and more.

Pressbooks options:

  1. Pressbooks at TRU
  2. BCcampus
    • ​BCcampus offers a Pressbooks account to all faculty at British Columbia Post secondary institutions.
    • ​Set up your account at http://Pressbooks.bccampus.ca.

Pressbooks Help

When you decide to get started with adapting or creating an Open Text, there are supports available for you:

  • For Technical Support in Pressbooks: Contact Ken Monroe – kmonroe@tru.ca or ext. 8440 in the Instructional Design and Innovation Department. Ken can provide support including: importing a book, editing text or media, inserting other multimedia elements and more.
  • Copyright and Editing:  Contact Danielle Collins, TRU's Supervisor of Editing and Copyright dcollins@tru.ca or ext. 6823. If you have any questions about copyright or require editing support, connect with Dani. She will start by having a discussion with you regarding the scope of work required and from their provide support resources as they are available.
