To cite an image from a book, include the book in your references and include the page number of the image in the in-text citation.
Template:
Author, A. A. (Year). Title of book: Subtitle of book. Place of Publication: Publisher.
Example:
Hill, C. C., Lamoureux, J., & Thom, I. M. (2006). Emily Carr: New perspectives on a Canadian icon. Vancouver, BC: Douglas & McIntyre.
For more information on citing art in APA, see the APA Blog.
Note: This format is used to reference an image that is discussed in the text of a paper. If the image is also to be reproduced in the paper, then permission from the copyright holder must be obtained and acknowledged. If permission is not needed because the image is under a Creative Commons License or is in the public domain, then that needs to be acknowledged as well.
