November is widely known as the...

Month of Remembrance

It is a time to collectively grieve and remember those who have died. Remembrance Day, which falls on November 11th, is for remembering the tragic events of World War I (1914-1918) and World War II (1939-1945) and the countless lives that were lost. In Canada, we take time to remember the bravery and sacrifices of Canadians who fought for our country and for our allies during those dark times. We remember, lest we forget the horrors witnessed on the front lines, the blood shed for our freedom. While we acknowledge WWI and WWII, it is important to also remember Canada's contribution to the Korean War (1950-1953), where brave Canadian soldiers fought and died in an effort to keep the peace.

In addition, on November 20th, we acknowledge Transgender Day of Remembrance, where we hold a moment of silence to reflect on those who were victims of transphobic violence and murdered for being transgender.

We've chosen this selection of e-books to inform, educate, and to remember the lives lost, lest we forget.
