Most of us take the freedom to transmit our culture for granted, but for generations it was denied to Canada’s First Nations, whose traditions and languages were intentionally and unintentionally suppressed by government policy and assimilationist ideology.

This guide focuses on TRU Library resources that highlight the ongoing effort to preserve and revive the languages and voices of the First Nations, particularly those living in area that TRU serves.   As we add new books and journals to our collection, we will add them to this guide.
