New library hours! The Research Help Desk will now be open Monday through Friday. The House of Learning study spaces and library collections will be accessible 7:30am to midnight 7 days a week. The virtual AskAway service (accessible on the library homepage) is open 7 days a week for research assistance.
If you plan to use the library’s course reading list service (either electronically or through the physical Reserves collection), please submit your requests in advance for quick processing. As part of a pilot program to increase access to materials, students can now access Reserves even when the library is unstaffed.
Student ID cards are now digital! If sending students to the library to borrow print books, laptops, or other physical material, please advise them to get their Digital Student ID Card via the myTRU portal.
Book your library instruction classes soon to ensure that your first choice of dates is available (yes, we will come to your evening class).
Library laptop loans are available on a first-come, first-served basis with semester-long loans starting Wednesday, September 3rd.
The Library and Research Office are hosting the Fall Undergraduate Research Showcase in the Learning Commons from December 1-5, 2025. To schedule a time for your class to share their work with the larger campus community, contact Elizabeth Rennie at erennie@tru.ca.
The 21st annual TRU Undergraduate Conference will be held April 7-10, 2026. TRU undergraduate students from all programs can share their work with the TRU and Kamloops communities through posters or 15-minute lectures. Application forms and details will be available on the conference website. Please encourage students to apply, as they often respond to your feedback that their work is worth sharing; this may include reaching out to students who did significant work in the Fall semester. Faculty interested in having a Winter semester class share poster projects during class hours should contact Elizabeth Rennie to discuss logistics.
