Course Readings

Faculty: Put items on reserve as course readings

Put physical or electronic items on reserve in the library for students with our Course Readings Collection. Our Reading List Service lets you create customized reading lists.

How it works

Make books and other physical materials available for short-term loan (2 hours, 1 day, or 3 days) by adding them as course readings. We can also create a customized reading list for your course and make it available to your students.

Request to add a course reading or reading list

Digitize readings

If needed, we can digitize (scan) portions of physical items (e.g. a book chapter, test solution, notes) for course readings, subject to TRU Fair Dealing guidelines.

Add readings to a Moodle course

Once your course reading or reading list is ready, follow our instructions to add it to a Moodle course

Access readings

  • Course readings are searchable by course name, course number, instructor, or keyword
  • The course readings physical collection is on the 3rd Floor, House of Learning Library
  • Physical items are available on a first come first served basis during Library open hours
  • Electronic materials such as ebooks can be accessed online 24/7

Notify your students

Make sure your students know they can find your course readings through the Library or via your course Moodle.
