Q: When can I apply?

Now! Application deadline is April 29, 2023

Q: When would I start?

There will be a mandatory 2-hour training session in August 2023

Ambassador shifts:

Fall semester: Sept 5 - Dec 1

Winter semester: Jan 3 - Apr 5

Q: Are there certain skills I need to be an Ambassador?

  • Minimum GPA 2.5
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Energy, curiosity, and all-around awesomeness!

Q: What will I be doing?

  • Connecting students, faculty, and TRU staff to library services at the Student Library Ambassador Help desk.
  • Assisting at 1 or 2 events per semester.
  • Enhancing your communications skills

Q: How much time do I need to commit?

We are looking for commitment for both the Fall and Winter semesters. See application form for approximate hours.

 

Q: Do you provide training?

Yes, there is a mandatory training session in August

Q: What are the benefits?

Q: Will I get paid?

Upon successfully meeting program expectations, Ambassadors will receive $1000 from the Awards office at the end of each semester (Fall 2023 & Winter 2024)

Please note: If there is an overdue balance on your TRU account at the end of the semester, this is paid first by the Awards office. You will then receive the remainder by cheque.

Q: What is the process of being a Student Library Ambassador?

1) Fill in the online application in the "Home" tab (Applications due by April 29, 2023)

2) If you are short-listed, we will contact you for an interview

3) Come to the mandatory training day
