OpenAthens is the library's single sign-on service that simplifies access to our digital resources for TRU students, staff, and faculty. It allows you to log in once and access a wide range of online materials, such as journals, databases, and e-books, without needing multiple usernames and passwords.
OpenAthens makes it easier to access library resources securely. Here's how it works:
More advantages:
On campus: If you're using TRU's Wi-Fi, you'll need to sign in with your TRU credentials.
Off campus: Complete your multi-factor authentication (MFA) using the Microsoft Authenticator app. Use your student or employee email address and password—the same credentials you use for Moodle.
If you’re embedding links to library resources in your Moodle courses or other materials, ensure they are compatible with OpenAthens. For links sourced from the Library's Discovery Service, you can revisit the resource and, starting May 5, regenerate the link. The updated link will automatically be OpenAthens-compatible. If you have any questions, please email library@tru.ca. We can help with your reading lists as well! Use the form below to submit one or an entire list of links that need to be updated.
