Publishing a Journal Article

Live Help

Finding journals

  • Where have similar articles been published? Search a discipline specific database and see where related articles have been published. Look at the library's subject guides to find out which article databases are relevant to your field.
  • Check for journal (open access journals only) - DOAJ is an online directory that indexes open access, peer-reviewed journals.
  • Use the Journal Title List to find a list of journals in your discipline. Remember that this list includes only journals to which TRU Library subscribes

  • Try JANE (Journal Author Name Estimator): Jane first searches for the 50 articles or journals that are most similar to your abstract or keyword
  • Your colleagues, instructors and advisors are excellent resources to help you identify journals that are appropriate for your article.
