Fully Spell Out These Words

  • Abstract
  • Chapter
  • Paper
  • Part

Abbreviate These Words

  • Editor - editors Eds., Eds.
  • Numbers - No.
  • Page, pages, with periods - p., pp
  • Specific Volume - Vol.
  • Number of volumes - vols.

Books in a Series

You will use books that are published in a series.  These could be encyclopedias, guide books, or handbooks.

Basic Format

Entry title: Book Title; Editor 1, Editor 2,  Eds.; Series Title; Publisher: Place of Publication, Year.

Example

Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Chemistry, Nutrition, and Health Effects; Shahidi, F., Finley, J. W., Eds.; ACS Symposium Series 788; American Chemical Society: Washington, DC, 2001.
